Samsung Unveiled a New Lineup of Smart TVs

This week, Samsung presented a new lineup of smart TVs at CES 2022. The company’s latest models promise their share of quality upgrades. For instance, Samsung’s mainstream Neo QLED sets now include what the company says are the first 4k and 8k sets with 144Hz inputs instead of the usual 120Hz. Also, it is worth mentioning that the Frame TV will be available in sizes between 32 and 85 inches.

New models unveiled by Samsung promise image quality improvements regardless of the source. All the 8k and 4k Neo QLED sets migrated from a 12-bit blacklight to 14-bit, providing more accurate brightness. Besides, they also boost a new Shape Adaptive Light Control feature that theoretically improves the mini-LED sets’ quality. An artificial intelligence-driven Object Depth Enhancer can help differentiate a picture’s main subject from its background.

Samsung offers another exciting feature. All smart TVs have a new home screen that helps aggregate streaming content and provides an ambient display when idle. A Gaming Hub has the opportunity to launch console- and cloud-based games directly. Thanks to a new Game Bar, users can customize relevant picture settings.

Watch Together is a SharePlay-style mode that enables users to talk to distant friends while watching broadcast and streaming shows. Samsung’s new smart TVs even support non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Its new smart TVs will allow users to purchase NFTs. Concretely, MICRO LED, Neo QLED, as well as The Frame TV models will support NFTs.

The tech giant is not new to the NFT space. The company’s venture unit, Samsung Next, is an investor in several NFT startups. Samsung Next invested in Sky Mavis (Axie Infinity creator), Dapper Labs, Forte, Nifty’s, The Sandbox, and SuperRare.
